Terms & Refund Policy

These terms govern your purchase and use of Awake, a macOS menu-bar app. By buying or using Awake, you agree to them. Plain-English summary up top, details below.
1. What you're buying
Awake is a one-time purchase of a lifetime license for the app. "Lifetime" means the life of the product — the version of Awake as it exists at the time of your purchase, plus any updates we choose to release. It is not a subscription, and it is not a promise that Awake will be developed, updated, or supported forever.
Your license is personal and for your own Macs. Please don't resell, share, or redistribute your license key.
2. It keeps working, even if we don't
Awake validates your license offline and stores it locally on your Mac. It does not need our servers to run. So if this website, our company, or the Awake project ever shuts down, the copy you already installed keeps working — your purchase isn't tied to us staying online.
3. Refunds
Awake is a digital product delivered instantly, so all sales are final. We may, at our sole discretion, issue a refund for a genuine technical problem reported soon after purchase — but we are not obligated to.
If Awake is ever discontinued, unpublished, shut down, or stops receiving updates or support, no refunds will be issued. You are buying the software as it exists at the time of purchase (see section 2 — your installed copy continues to work regardless).
Where the law grants you a non-waivable statutory refund right (for example, the EU/UK 14-day right of withdrawal for digital purchases), that right still applies; by starting to download Awake you may be asked to consent to immediate delivery, which can waive that right.
4. As-is, no warranty
Awake is provided "as is," without warranty of any kind. Keep-awake and lid-closed modes deliberately change how macOS manages sleep, power and heat. Awake includes automatic safeguards — it stops when your Mac runs hot, at low battery, and after a time limit — but you use it at your own risk.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we accept no liability for any damage, overheating, data loss, lost work, or other harm arising from the use of Awake. Awake is not affiliated with, or endorsed by, Apple Inc.
5. Acceptable use
Don't attempt to crack, forge, or resell license keys, or use Awake to break the law or damage hardware you don't own. We may revoke a license obtained by fraud or chargeback.
6. Changes
We may update these terms; the "last updated" date above will change. Continuing to use Awake after an update means you accept the revised terms.
